How to Style your Jewellery this Wedding Season?

The winter season is here and with it comes the wedding season too. In Delhi almost the whole of the winter there will be at least 10 weddings happening all over the city. This is not an exaggeration, this is actual fact, that the months from November to December and even January to an extent are the prime wedding months, when the maximum number of these events happen. This could have to do that during these months, according to many scriptures and religious reasons, are very auspicious for such events and people want to especially get such important life changing events done at a good time. Also, the winter months are quite a relief since it is easier to get every together, and also unlike the unforgiving heat during the summers, this season is more adapt to being able to dress up to the nines and not sweat it all off.

But, with the on- setting of the wedding season, its not just the brides that have a hard time, but also all the relatives, friends and cousins who too have to look their best at such an auspicious event. Fortunately there are many jewellers in Delhi like the Hazoorilal Jewellers in GK market and many more that have fantastic collections at their shop.

Now, that there is all this jewellery available for purchase the important question is what to buy in the first place. Good quality jewellery can be quite expensive and thus one needs to spend their money wisely. Selecting and styling this jewellery during the wedding season foes hand in hand. One should try to look for styles that are more universal and will go with more than one outfits. So here are some tips on how to style your jewellery during this time:

1. Decide your Dress Beforehand:

Having a clear idea of what one is wearing can greatly help one in selecting what jewellery to buy from jewellers in Delhi. Since this will allow them to envision on how whether a particular style, cut or colour will go with their dress if they already have something in mind.

2. Go for Universal Cuts:

There are a lot of jewellers in the city, that makes the choosing part even more difficult, since there are so many options. But one thing is that when buying jewellery or if one is getting it custom made, then try to go for a cut or style that is universal and will go with all types of dresses, from western to Indian and more.

3. Go for Vibrant Colours:

This season colours are in, so get a little adventurous, only a little, and go for a fun vibrant colour without getting too over the top. Hazoorilal Jewellers and more have a vast collection of such colourful jewellery to choose from.

The Gift of Gold this Festive Season

Diwali- the favourite festival of many- is almost here, and I must say that I am super surprised to see people bursting with excitement and joy without bursting crackers this time. There are better ways to celebrate this brilliant festival of light that include decorating the house with lights, exchanging gifts, indulging in yummy food and sweets, going for card parties, and probably the best of all- buying gold.

Dhanteras marks the beginning of the five-day long Diwali festival and is extremely popular in North and West India. People pray to Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, for prosperity in the family on this day. It’s also considered to be an auspicious day for purchasing and worshiping precious metals like Gold.

As a child, I always accompanied my parents for the night-shopping spree. We always bought gold jewellery from our trusted jewellery shop in Delhi and I don’t think I can ever forget my mother’s joyful face when she chose gold or silver bangles and kadas, ring, necklace or earrings. But that was just one part of Dhanteras. I happily helped my parents choose candles, diyas, Kheel-Batasha, idols of Ganesh-Lakshmi, and crackers (I was small and didn’t know the severe impact crackers have on the environment and animals). I just loved the whole experience including shops that stayed open till late in the night, light and decoration all around, a sense of peace amidst the noise, and lots and lots of joy and happiness.

Gifting a gold jewel to your mother, sister, or wife can really make their Deepavali special, and I am sure seeing her/them erupt in happiness will make it special for you too. So seize this perfect opportunity and make this Diwali memorable for your loved ones. If you are oblivious of a good jeweller around you, you could explore options like Hazoorilal Jewelers and choose from their wide selection of gold jewellery. Wishing you a very happy and prosperous Diwali!

Significance Of A Diamond Ring On Different Fingers

A diamond ring as an engagement ring has kind of become clichéd. You go out to a party and see a beautiful woman and then you see a diamond ring on her ring finger and then there’s a heartbreak. Majority of the diamond ring owners wear it on their ring finger, but there’s a significance of wearing the ring on each finger.

Diamond Ring

Little Finger

A neighbor to the ring finger, wearing a diamond ring on the little finger has a similar significance. It shows your association with the outside world. A brilliant diamond ring from Hazoorilal Jewellers will symbolize that you are a people’s person.

Ring Finger

This information is so commonly accepted that we don’t even know if it started out as a myth. Ring finger has a direct vein to the heart and that is the reason you wear the ring on this finger if it is a promise of togetherness from your beloved.  Buy a stunning diamond ring from Hazoorilal Jewellers South Ex, so that your better half’s heart remains in tandem with yours.

Middle Finger

The largest of them all, the middle finger represents you as an individual. It stands out above the other fingers and wearing a diamond ring on it shows your stature effectively. Wearing a diamond ring on the middle finger also portrays a balanced life.

Index finger

Generally considered as the first finger, it is always ahead of its competitors. That is the reason wearing a diamond ring on your index finger shows that you are a leader and an overall ambitious person. It also helps you tap your inner strength.

Thumb

The odd one out, but the most vital finger in our body.It works independently but most of our actions are dependent on it. Thus, wearing a diamond ring on your thumb symbolized your talent to work alone and still be successful. It is also a display of your willpower.

Bangles and Indian women!

Women love jewelry and I believe that the love for bangles needs a special mention here! Women, especially Indian women find their way to bangles- no matter how casual or festive the occasion is!

Bangles bring joy! A jewelry Shop in Delhi intelligently places a range of appealing sets of bangles in the outer display to lure the ladies passing by. They come in all sizes and if you even happen to visit an Indian wedding, you’d agree that there’s a barely a lady without bangles! Bangles enhance the beauty of traditional attire but then, they’re not limited to it.

Here’s a list of the types of bangles, according to what materials they’re made of and what occasions they’re worn in.
  • Glass bangles: These are the commonest of all. Glass bangles are found anywhere and everywhere in India. From the carts in villages to the shopping malls of cities, glass bangles come in a variety of colors and designs, and have been attracting women since ever!
  • Plastic bangles: Plastic bangles are more popular among the unmarried Indian women and are worn casually by them. These are generally worn on western dresses to enhance the chic and trendy look of the attire.
  • Metallic bangles: From Gold and Silver to white gold and platinum, these expensive bangles are mostly worn in weddings and other such occasions. Hazoorilal Jewelers is a well-established name in offering a wide variety of metallic bangles with elegant designs and carvings!
  • Ivory bangles: Ivory bangles are generally worn by newly married Indian women as a part of tradition. These are mostly white and red in color and are decorated with stones. It is also known as “chooda” in some of the north Indian states!

A diamond bracelet for my bride-to-be sister

Do you have a sibling? If yes, you would know that the relationship with our brother/sister feels incomplete without those periodic fights. And yet, the bond we share with them is so deep that we don’t know what we do without them. My sister is my constant companion, my confidant, and the one I absolutely love to fight with. So obviously, when she decided to get married, I clearly was the happiest person in the house. I have been waiting for this event for as long as I can remember, but more than that I am glad she is getting married to the guy she loves.

So when the families fixed upon the date of marriage, I was overjoyed. I really wanted to give her something special as her marriage gift. But because the announcement came sooner than I had expected, it didn’t leave me much time to save money as I wanted to gift her something nice before her engagement. I decided I would buy her a simple yet classy diamond bracelet from a reputed jewellery shop in Delhi. I went to various jewellers, saw the designs, got an estimate of how one bracelet would cost me, and then started accumulating money. Apart from saving most of my monthly income from my job, I did some content writing work as a freelancer. Of course, I had to work extra-extra hard for a couple of months but I feel it was totally worth it.

Jewellery Shop in Delhi

When I finally had the amount in my bank, I went to Hazoorilal Jewellers, from where my sister was buying part of her wedding jewellery and selected a beautiful diamond bracelet under my budget. Choosing a piece wasn’t so much of a problem because I knew what my sister would like. When I actually gifted her the bracelet, she really couldn’t believe it because during the 5 years I had been working for, I had never gifted her anything, even on her birthdays. She loved the bracelet and even wore it in her engagement. Her wedding is just a few weeks away and I am really looking forward to it. It feels great to be the reason for someone else’s smile, so if you want to give a special someone something, don’t think and just go ahead.

Diamond rings for men: A guide for diamond shopping

Whoever said that diamonds are girls’ best friends never had an encounter with men’s love for diamonds! The truth is that men equally admire the exquisite pieces of diamonds, and the huge sale of diamond rings for men is evident of this fact.

Diamond Rings for men

Today, the engagement ceremonies are characterized by the exchange of diamonds between couples. The idea of owning a diamond is superb. However, the idea of shopping for a diamond may leave you in a maze of confusion. Hazoorilal Diamond Jewelery offers a variety of diamonds so wide that it would be difficult to select just one piece. Here’s a guide to all the women out there who’re planning to buy diamond rings for the men of their lives.

•Fit: When you buy him a diamond ring, you’d want it to be perfectly fit. An ill-fitting ring, no matter how wonderful it looks, cannot be flaunted well enough.

•The metal priority: Before rushing to the varieties of diamond, know which metal your man prefers. Some of the men may prefer a simple diamond stud over a plain gold ring. Some however may want platinum as the metal base. Knowing the metal priority may narrow your options down.

•The four C’s: If you’ve ever read about diamond and its originality, crack the four Cs related to it. These are clarity, color, cuts and carats. Use a magnifying glass to choose a colorless diamond, perfectly reflecting lights.

•Budget factor: You’d come across various varieties of diamonds. Chances are that some of them would exceed your budget and chances are that your heart goes out to a ring that’s way too expensive for you. It’s wise to keep your budget in mind. You can keep margins for modification.

Just remember all these pointers and you’re good to go!

Why Bridal Jewelry is Important

They day of the wedding and all the days leading up to it, are some of the best ones in any bride's life. Most of the women and sometimes even men, start to think of how their won wedding day will look, they start to picture every little detail what will look like what, where it will go etc etc.

And parents start to collect jewelry for these weddings since the birth of the child, they want their child or coming daughter-in-law to have nothing to want for. Most of the times, these jewelry pieces are ones that have been in the family for generation, they are not a lot, but their cultural and familial value is unparalleled.

Before the wedding the families usually take these pieces to their trusted family jewellers in Delhi or where they are residing to get them polished or repaired if they are not in the best the conditions. These are the heirloom pieces usually given to the bride from her parents and her in-laws too, passed down from one generation to the next. They might not be the most fashionable pieces but that is not the point, the point is the history behind and to be given this is a huge honor.

But, parents and family members now realise that the bride would also like something more to her taste and perhaps something which is a bit modern. That is why many of them take the bride to-be to select a few pieces of her own from the popular and trusted bridal jewellery shops in Delhi.

The point of the bride purchasing new jewellery is not to hurt anyone, but the cause of it is, that many times the heirloom jewellery is very delicate in nature, thus one cannot wear or use them on a frequent basis. They are usually kept in the locker or someplace safe and only take out for the extremely auspicious occasions. That is why for a more regular wear family members take the bride to-be to buy a few new pieces.

Top Sorry gifts for wives

Fights and arguments are a part and parcel of a relationship. Research shows that a couple, who doesn’t fight, is unlikely to stay happy together! Strange but it is true! Well, fight can be big or small depending upon the issue but making up and apologizing is the best part of the fight. If, in any case you have made your wife upset, you can always come up with a gift as a gesture of making up! And as most of you know, the key to a happy household is a happy wife!

Teddy bear
Trust me, it works! Cheesy, age-old present, but it works! Bring her a big fat teddy to say sorry and she will forget about all that has been said and done and will be back to her normal self.
There are toy and gift stores in malls and other areas, so you wouldn’t have much problem in spotting one. Just one tip: choose the one with the cutest face as that would suffice for the puppy face you have been trying to make to win her back!

Jewellery
If you have screwed up on something special, like forgetting her birthday or your anniversary, you better be ready to visit all the shops of Diamond jewelleries in India to find out the perfect one for her!

I once did something like this (would never forget anything again!) and got a beautiful diamond pendant from Hazoorilal Jewelers for my wife. It did not compensate for ruining her day of course, but it did make the situation better. I felt really sorry for having done something like that so, seeing her smile was a big thing for me.

Flowers and chocolates and hugs!

For trivial issues and petty fights hugs are the best thing you can surprise her with! Just hug her and keep hugging her until she melts! Flowers and chocolates are simple gifts that you can keep gifting each other, but for saying sorry for a small fight, this works wonders.

Types of engagement rings

If it is an engagement, it has to be diamond studded! This day is special because of this sparkling stone on your finger. With yours and everyone’s eyes on the ring, it better be beautiful and worth the wait! Did you know there are several types of engagement rings that you can choose from? While solitaire is the most popular and loved, it is also the most common type of diamond ring. Check out a few more, apart from solitaire, as no one knows you might just end up choosing one of them for your own engagement!

Promise rings
This is a set of a couple of rings. They are more or less similar looking. They are slightly smaller in size than the traditional engagement rings are supposed to be but their significance is utterly romantic! They signify about the promise and commitment a couple has for each other. Since it is similar in its looks also, it is exchanged as a symbol of the mutual feeling of togetherness they have for each other.

Three stone rings
Three stone engagement rings is three diamond rings mounted on a ring of platinum or gold (can be white or yellow gold). This too, has significance. The three diamonds represent your part, present and future of your journey together. Hazoorilal jewellers have some fabulous collection of these rings and nowadays there is an increasing demand for three stone rings, as per an expert. You could surprise her with such a ring and reinforce you promise to be with her forever.

Diamond Jewellery India

Solitaire with side stones
Diamond jewellery in India is synonymous to solitaires. But if you are looking for something comparatively new, you can go for a solitaire with side stones. Not only they are beautiful, they are nowadays in huge demand. The stones can be of sapphire, silver or any other stone you want it to be. They make a ring look bigger and more gorgeous. You can have a customized ring ordered from your trusted jewellers, like for me it’s Hazoorilal Jewellers.

Diamond Jewellery Ever Girl Yearns For

As they say, diamonds are a girl’s best friend! And while I’m against all such clichés about women, I must admit, diamonds are something I have always yearned for. Sparkly, shiny, dazzling and absolutely gorgeous, diamond jewellery at store windows like hazoorilal jewellers gk always catch my eye, and might even elicit a bit of drool!

Earrings

Read on to find out about a few items of diamond jewellery that I just can’t wait to get my hands on.

•Yes, like all other girls, I too secretly long for the day a handsome young man will slide a big shiny diamond rock on my finger! Forget love and all that jazz, I’d definitely want to keep that diamond engagement ring no matter what! It’s got to be one of these classic Princess-cut jewels, and it’s most definitely got to be massive!

•A simple diamond pendant is something I’ve always wanted. Elegant, delicate, and timeless, a diamond pendant can go with anything and everything, and add that dash of sparkle to the neck.

•I’ve always wanted a pair of diamond solitaire earrings. Seeing those gorgeous actresses walking the red carpet at all the fancy events, I’ve noticed that diamond earrings are quite the rage. And what’s best, they work wonderfully to bring out your face and hair-do, so that’s always a plus I’d really be looking forward to… When the time comes!

•A diamond nose pin: Having had a nose piercing for a few years now, I’m quite sick and tired of changing them every now and again to colour studs and what not. The time has come for me to grow up and rock an elegant diamond nose stud!

Okay, I just realised the futility of making a list of diamond items I’d like to own. Do you know why? Because even if I owned these, I don’t think I could ever possibly have my fill of all things diamond! But still, I will make sure I get around to hitting hazoorilal jewellers gk soon enough and gradually tick of these items as the years go by, and then come up with another blog of new things on my list, perhaps!

Best Diamond rings in Delhi

I don’t know if diamonds are really the ‘best friend’ of a woman, but gifting a diamond can surely make you her best friend! I am a witness to such an incident where my strained relation with a woman was mended significantly due to a diamond! No, in case you are thinking it’s my wife, you are wrong. It’s her mother, my mother-in-law!

A typical Indian family still finds ‘Love marriage’ a taboo. So was my case. I wanted to marry her daughter but I was not entertained right from the beginning. Initially it was both my wife’s parents but eventually my wife being the only daughter managed to convince her dad about me. But NOT her mom. I was gradually getting into the mode of a Bollywood hero to impress her mom but she seemed to remain indifferent to all my efforts. Even her husband couldn’t talk her into this marriage.

Somehow, after withstanding a lot of opposition we got married. My mother-in-law had to give in to her adamant daughter’s wish and my persistence. Unfortunately, she never accepted me as a part of her family. I can clearly recollect many incidents where she would barely speak to me. This kept my wife immensely upset as her relation with her mother was straining too. I couldn’t think of any way to put an end to this trauma. Most of our family members had also given up by that time.

It was only when my wife mentioned about her mother’s birthday did I come up with an idea. I planned a surprise birthday party for her in a plush banquet, invited her friends and all our relatives. I knew what I had to gift her. My wife suggested of Hazoorilal when I approached her with the idea of presenting her mother a diamond ring.

Diamond Rings

And thanks to her, I found it the best and the most convenient place to purchase marvelous diamond rings for women in Delhi. I pulled out the best one in the hope my ‘always unimpressed’ mother-in law would like it. She did have an amazing birthday, and probably by seeing me put in so much of effort to make her day special she became a bit soft towards me, but the moment I handed her over the ring I got her, she was speechless. That day, I can say marked the beginning of our ice breaking. Today, she is more like a friend to me, and now she regrets keeping me away from her for so long. I would always thank that beautiful piece of diamond to help begin the wonderful bond that I share with her now!

The best wedding gift!

That’s what happens when you’re friends with both the bride and the groom- you are being pulled by both of them in a way that is worse than tug of war. I was the happiest being on planet earth when I learned two of my best friends are getting married. My euphoria became a nightmare when their wedding date began to near. Both the to-be bride and groom needed me on various occasions and both fought about whom I should attend first! The tension reached its limits when both of them wanted me to accompany them for shopping; I like a patient mother, scheduled my meeting with both of them!

I had fixed up a shopping schedule with the lady first because she obviously had a lot of things on her list. We paid visit to all the bridal jewellery shops in Delhi she has listed. And with a lot of scrutiny she finalized her wedding jewelleries from all of the shops she had listed! A necklace from one, a ring from another, and so on! Her bridal wear was a massive decision and she was dependent on me for that crucial verdict. I lost count of the number of stores we visited to nail her wedding dress. Can’t blame her, she is the bride and she is allowed to freak out and change her mind after every piece she was shown. That was precisely why I was called!

Rings for men

The day after, I had an appointment with the groom for the same purpose. He was utterly confused about everything! He looked for almost all the available options when the jeweler showed him nearly all the rings for men! He has zero knowledge of jewellery and I came to his recue just the way I helped him get an engagement ring. It took him 2 full hours to pin down one ring for himself. Thanks to the patient attendants of Hazoorilal Jewelers who did their best to help him (and me!). The rest of the shopping was easier, as he sort of knew what he wanted and with a little backing from me, he was quite fast!

Although, it was a tough time attending to both of their needs, it was a pleasure to see them both smiling on the D-Day, and no wonder, I give myself full credit for giving them that gift which no one else did!

My best friend’s wedding

Weddings are joyous occasions that bring together family and friends, even if only for a few days. When my best friend was getting married, there was no need for her to verbally express her happiness; her eyes said it all. But apart from the bride and groom, who do you think was also equally excited? The best friends, of course! And while it was my dearest friend who was preparing for her big day, my joy too knew no limits. Accompanying her on her never-ending shopping sprees, dancing on each of her functions, and the sleepless nights when we discussed her new phase of life during those last few days before her wedding, were great memories I know I would remember for the rest of my life (okay, at least until I get married).

The task of shopping was an exacting task. We used to come back home exhausted after a day spent on shopping. But the days when we visited various jewellers in Delhi to find the right kind of jewellery were always the best. I could not stop staring at the amazing diamond solitaires, traditional gold jewellery, and platinum jewels. And since the friends of the bride too have the right to look beautiful on the various functions, I always ended up buying things for myself as well.

Wedding

Let me now talk about the wedding day. My best friend was the most beautiful bride I had ever seen in real life. With the pink and golden lehenga perfectly complementing her fair complexion, and the ethereal gold jewellery from the best jewellery shop in Delhi, she looked absolutely stunning. And did I tell you that the groom just could not stop smiling? The perfect couple had a perfect wedding and while clothes and jewellery do not matter where there is true love, those did in reality contribute in making the wedding day truly memorable.

Dos and Don’ts at an Indian Wedding!

So, everybody knows that Delhi is synonymous with weddings, don’t you? At least I do! And then not the simple plain Jane weddings but the huge big fat Indian weddings you have ever seen out there. Come November and you see a slew of people dressed in ornate clothes dancing their way to glory on the streets like no one’s watching and blocking the already narrow roads, while the quintessential marriage band goes on with the irritating blaring noise which so far I seem to know by heart! Anyways, another speciality of such weddings is that yes no doubt the bride will be gleaming with that jewellery from that posh and famous bridal jewellery shops in Delhi, but the guests are no less, and you see them aunties in bright sparkling saris and backless blouses, their faces lighting white (too much foundation maybe) with their jhatkas and matkas and not to forget their open match making. But then Indian weddings are just so much fun and engaging, I would choose to go to a wedding instead of the club any day, because weddings can be really interesting too!! But yes, on your way to attend one soon? Read along a little dos and don’ts before you set out:

ring for men

•Dress Code/ Colour code:

Completely completely avoid wearing white and black if you are going to a traditional Hindu wedding because Hindus associate white with death and black with mourning. Also, be modest when dressing up and avoid too much skin show because in weddings like Sikh and Jain weddings which take place in temples, you might be breaching the conduct of the holy place.

•Jewellery:

Please understand that the bride and groom deserve to be the stars on their wedding, so please give them that honour! Yes, I know they have those huge diamond rings for men in the market, but you really don’t need that to shine right? And for the ones who think weddings is the type to flirt with girls and be the cool dude, trust me for I am a girl, too much

Want to own a diamond? Then know the diamond!

Owning a diamond, is not knowing a diamond, and since it’s diamond, it is better you don’t just own it, it know about that piece or chunk you so lovingly like to flaunt. My friend is in dire need of a diamond ring. The reason is predictable; he is proposing his lady love soon! He doesn’t know many shops of jewellery in Delhi, nor is he well versed with diamonds. As a good old friend, I considered it as my duty to tell him about the 4 Cs of diamond. The ‘Four Cs’ are: cut, colour, clarity and carat. All of which must be considered equally while evaluating options before making the final buy.

CUT
The cut of the diamond depends on the way it has been carved, and since it is a process handled by men, it is prone to mistakes. A bad cut can lead to a definite amount of reduced sparkle in the stone. Too deep or too shallow a cut would alter the sheen of the diamond.  Be extremely careful about he cut before making a purchase.

COLOR
The best diamonds are perfect white or rather colorless. The whiteness symbolizes the purity of the stone. So you know how to differentiate between the different shades of diamond.  Diamonds with a distinct colour are usually rare and are hence expensive, who knows, you might just end up getting hold of the Best Diamond Jewellery in India, in your quest to find the perfect ring?

Diamond Jewellery

CLARITY
As long as the stone is a graded SI1 or better (best and most expensive is IF, or Internally Flawless), it should be all right. There is not much to fuss about the clarity. Just take a glimpse into the diamond you are about to buy with a magnifying eyeglass and look for small inclusions. They are natural as long as there isn’t too many of them.

CARAT
The weight, and size, of a diamond is measured by carat as we all know. A carat is as much as 0.2gm, or 200mgm. The average size of most engagement-ring diamonds ranges between one carat and half a carat.

BEAUTIFUL! LIKE DIAMONDS IN THE SKY!

So for every girl out there, including me, diamonds and diamond jewellery, be it rings or intricate necklaces or just earrings are her most priced possession! And also her most envious lust! So why exactly is this stone so important or so popular out there? Is it because of it is one of the expensive jewels? (but, so are ruby and emerald) or is it just because someone said Diamonds are a girl’s best friend?

The other day, one of my friend’s sisters got married; I remember helping her with the marriage shopping the month before. I distinctly remember while we shopped for the bridal outfits, the shoes and bangles etc in one day, she had kept one day separately to buy a diamond ring and a diamond necklace, and I thought just why? I mean you have 24 hours in a day, fine you get up late and then you get ready and waste more than half of it, still you would not need so much time to buy one ring! I mean seriously, you just need to pick one and pay for it and leave!! You don’t have to actually go buy the stone, craft it, crave the design and then bring it home! It would just take me maximum half an hour to do the needful, I had thought!

But then we entered Hazoorilal Diamond jewellery  store at South Ex, It took me a while to actually to get over the overwhelming feeling of the beautiful alluring interiors of the store, so shiny, so bright, made brighter by the smiling staff. And lo, if that wasn’t enough, they brought out the jewellery, I gazed through every piece they had on offer, I was actually lusting for it, from the extensive varieties of jewellery, to the service of the staff, It was an absolutely mesmerising experience. You should definitely experience it once. Hazoorilal jeweller’s main address is South Ex and other parts of Delhi too, but mind you this is also the address of the shining stars of the sky, their diamond jewellery is exceptionally beautiful like diamonds in the sky!

The Hope Diamond

It’s been quite a long time since diamond got its due among women of all centuries and generations, by becoming their best friend. Be it intricately crafted diamond solitaire earnings to equally huge diamond necklaces, Diamond jewellery in India has reached high levels of popularity among many. I, myself, absolutely fascinated by the beauty of this gem, decided to research on it a little, and going through the history of diamond mining in the world; I came across articles about the most famous diamond in the world. It is supposedly called the ‘Hope Diamond’ or the ‘Tavernier Blue’, and is in fact notorious for being cursed.

Solitaire Earrings

History has it that a French merchant-traveller, Tavernier, obtained this diamond in the 1600s by theft or by purchase and is said to have weighted a huge 115 carat when it was brought to Paris, hence the name “Tavernier Blue’’. It passed on through many famous hands like King Louis XV, before reaching the Smithsonian museum it is displayed at today.

One popular myths surrounding the diamond are that it was perhaps stolen from the forehead of a Hindu deity and hence since then is said to be cursed, bringing ill faith to all those who own it. In fact, Tavernier himself is said to have been ripped open by wild dogs on his travel to Russia after he sold the diamond. This is the first brutal instance of bad luck. While other accounts rubbishes the rumour believing that many others flourished economically when they were owners to this diamond one fine example being that of rich London banker Mr Thomas Hope, from where it got its name.

No matter, if it’s actually cursed or not, but Hope Diamond has sure managed to be the talk of the town, garnering attention even today, where hoards of people come to witness its beauty themselves. This beauty is blue to the naked eye and exhibits red phosphorescence after exposure to ultraviolet light. No wonder this unique feature has earned it the title of the “most famous diamond in the world

Jewellery now, is just not limited to a part of vanity

Which girl would not want to be dressed up in the finest jewellery?? From jewellery made out of mere shells to jewellery made out expensive materials like gold and diamond. The jewellery industry in the world has grown leaps and bounds to reach where it is today. Women earlier found happiness in a single thread of glass beads, but women nowadays won’t settle for anything less than gold. That’s just how important jewellery has become part of one’s personality. It speaks volumes of a person’s social and economic standing.

Jewellery now, is just not limited to a part of vanity once, but we see the rise of it as a gifting option too. From Birthdays to anniversaries, we have people gifting intricate pieces of jewellery to their loved ones. Diamond rings to diamond necklaces; it is not uncommon now to come across ladies happily flaunting those solitaires, with many even becoming the talk of the town. Upgrading Your Jewellery

Everyone has that one piece of jewellery that has been long stashed away in the remotest drawers of the almirah. Simply doing away with them, or not wearing them for the fear of being gawked upon is not an option, considering all the familial values and high costs pivoted to them. But worry not, Jewellery redesigning, a fast emerging concept in the cosmos of Diamond Jewellery India, can have your glitzy pieces of jewels revamped into something wonderfully new.

Many a time it happens that a box bundled with precious stones and other funky jewellery gets passed down to you. But, you simply don't like the way it looks. Redesigning jewellery can modernize the old setting to turn into something pleasant altogether, leaving you happily surprised about the same.

But how does redesigning actually work? And what are the various components that it encompasses?

Most often than not, it is the stone, or the chain that needs to be replaced or refurbished to give a new, dazzling look to the piece, says a craftsman at Hazoorilal Jewellers South Extension. The jewellers normally assume that it is the chain, in case of a neckpiece, that has worn out and needs looping and connecting to bring something good out of the design.

Wonder whether anybody will have your archaic piece of ornament? Why not! The more archaic the piece is, the more value it will fetch you. Also, this most often translates into the more effort and work into the redesigning business.

Out with the old, in with the new seems to be working the best with many a jeweller designer these days. You may easily put unused jewellery to work by bringing it to a designer store. Hand over your ornaments to the designers, give them a couple of days, and voila! A designer can offer the best possible value for your money by peeling the drabness away and adding a dazzling charm. All by trading, or upgrading!

Diamonds: Historically Entrenched in India

How much of the history of diamonds are you familiar with? Did you know that diamonds are thought to have been first recognised in India, found along Indian rivers and streams? Diamonds were also first mined in India, as it goes. Ancient India, religious as it was, regarded diamonds as precious gemstones used as religion icons.

Just as the ethereal beauty of Helen of Troy sparked the Trojan War in Greek mythology, many an Indian ruler had gone to war over the famous Kohinoor Diamond. Later on, the Indian market for diamonds opened up to European countries, and India began trading diamonds with Europe where they were becoming highly in vogue. To come to slightly more contemporary times, it is said that until the year 2003, a whopping 92% of the entire world’s diamonds were both cut and polished in the city of Surat in India.

The Varieties of Diamonds

Diamonds known and considered as one of the most precious gems in the world are surely every woman’s dream and envy. Being the most precious and beautiful gemstones, they are used extensively in carving some of the most astonishing jewelry designs and pieces across the globe, says the experts from a renowned jewellery shop in Delhi.

Since these are nature’s gift i.e. formed and found naturally, they generally vary with the type and quantity of impurities which are present in them. Essentially there are two ways in which they are classified- first that contains nitrogen impurities and second which is abundant in other impurities except for nitrogen.

In fact it is amazing to know that only 20% of all the diamonds that is found on earth is used in making jewelry In Delhi and around, while the other 80% of the varieties are used for industrial purposes, iterates Delhi-based hazoorilal jewelers.

Having said that and putting a halt to all your curiosity, here is a list of some of the types of diamonds that are found organically:

White Diamonds
These are the types which are chiefly known and perceived as diamonds amongst the masses. Harvested globally, they are naturally available in several different shapes and sizes. The ones which are harvested from Argyle mines are known to be the best varieties of white diamonds that are available. It is this range of diamonds majorly used for making and presenting exotic jewellery pieces in the customized hazoorilal diamond jewellery sets.

Pink Diamonds
These are certainly the rarest and the most exquisite type of diamonds that are available. The Argyle mine is the chief mine that produces this variety, it is known that around 95% of the pink diamonds that are available on earth are produced and harvested from Argyle mine. Because only 1% of all the diamonds found naturally have the color pink, so this type is known to be amongst the most valuable.

Blue Diamonds
Rare and so again one of the most expensive types of diamonds that are found, these are certainly found in the best and most costly pieces of jewelry in Delhi and elsewhere. Being the scarcest types of the diamonds, it is actually difficult to find a true blue diamond, leave alone owing the jewelry carved out of it. However in recent years, techniques have been developed to produce these rare found diamonds, raising hope amongst the jeweler’s community at large.

Synthetic Diamonds
Not really the expensive ones, these are the man-made varieties of diamonds. Since diamonds still remain one of the most expensive gemstones found, it is not very practical for everyone to afford and own them. It is for this precise reason that the synthetic ones, considered a substitute to the natural diamonds are the most demanded and available forms of gemstones used intricately to carve the jewelry pieces.
